wow, what a weekend

This has been some crazy days around here since Thursday.  Thursday I went and had my appt with the counselor.  D ended up helping out here with the girls so I could go to the conference this weekend.  Then Sunday was spent at church and then the four of us went to see Shrek the Third.

 So I basically had some breakdowns this weekend.  It’s been some time coming I guess.  After Thursday’s session, I was in conversations with mom and told her what had been up between me and Scott.  In short the counselor had said basically Scott was treating me bad and the “stuff” at work last year was an escape mechanism for me.  Basically it all is a result of our relationship vs. me thinking they were two separate issues.  So Scott and I have done some talking and I’ve done a lot of praying and crying and forgiving and pleading.  Scott seems to really have “gotten it” this time and I’m hoping to see some changes in the future.  I’m really not sure how much I can take.  Not that we’re talking separation by ANY means but I can’t take any more stress…I’d have to quit something so I could just deal with the stress.  Mom still thinks I’m doing too much and need to cut back but honestly I don’t know what else to cut back.

I’ve been feeling sort of just “low” and “empty” since Saturday.  But today I’m feeling a little more hopeful.  Scott wrote me a sweet little story about us and I star as a flower lol.  Which is actually odd because I had written a little story about me as a flower right after everything happened last year.  It seems almost prophetic or something.

So the new video was debuted on MTV TRL today.  I didn’t remember it but I checked it out on mtv.com tonight.  And I’m in it somewhere!  At the end, it slowly pans the audience and it shows exactly where I was standing.  I just need a really big tv screen and a pause button to actually pick myself out lol. 

Arrival

Just got an email from Scott saying they have been in Turkey for a few hours, it is nice and there’s good food (all-important).  Yay!

Emma sick…again..

So Emma broke out in a fever on Saturday.  She kept it through Sunday.  I figured she was getting whatever Lexi had last week.  But then last evening she broke out in some rash.  It looked like she was sunburnt on her torso.  At 7:30 I ran her over to the urgent care center and turns out she probably has strep throat and scarlet fever.  Nice.  So we got her started on antibiotics and she should no longer be contagious after tonight and all better before the week’s end.

Grrr..so Lexi either has really bad allergies or the croup or something.  I had to go get her at MILs Saturday morning after waking up at 11 after the concert the night before.  She said she barely slept Friday night.  So I decided not to take her to church but Emma REALLY wanted to go to church so I decided to drop her off at church and have ILs be responsible while I was not there.  Lexi and I ended up going to the youth room and working on the podcast while she watched a movie on the big screen up there.  (too bad the sound didn’t come out on it and i have to redo it AGAIN).  So I pick up Emma after church and lo and behold it looks like she has pink eye.  Yuck.  Anyway, we stayed home the rest of the day save a trip to drop an overdue movie off at Blockbuster, a trip to get Emma some eye drops the dr had called in and a trip to Grandma’s to get Lexi’s Arial doll we had left over there.  Lexi is coughing a good bit.  I just realized I didn’t give her cough medicine, only Benadryl tonight.  Maybe I should go give her some.  But then there’s the whole paci issue.  She may want it if she starts crying again.  I’ll give her some time and then see.  All this sickness means no school tomorrow even though work tomorrow for me.  At least Scott is off the next two days.

Scott’s shoulder

So Scott went to the dr on Thursday.  His collarbone is still broken.  He cut down one of our trees in our front yard the Saturday before last and it made it pretty sore. The dr said if vigorous activity made it sore, then it would probably hurt for the rest of his life unless he got surgery.  So Scott said either do it right away or wait until the fall.  He is going to Turkey for his mission trip the day after Easter so they need to do it like yesterday.  He was supposed to hear something back about whether workman’s comp would wait until the fall but I don’t think they’ve called us back yet.  So it looks like Scott will be off work for another 2-3 months this year.

so instead of trying to catch up much, i’ll just try to pick up now.

AI was ok last night.  I LOVE Blake.  Chris lost some points with me last night with the Teletubbies comment.  Unnecessary.  According to dialidol.com, paul kim and nicholas pedro are gone.  fine with me.  Sanjaya is my least favorite.  Too immature and skittish.  Sundance is weird, I hope he doesn’t go far. 

Tonight is youth group.  Nothing special planned.  But S is coming over to talk about new plans he has for the youth and some I think affect the whole church.  I think we are going to start some small group stuff.  Which will be cool.  We’re working on a DVD to hand out about the youth group and also working on a new front for the the web site.  Should be cool.

I just got done reading Sex God by Rob Bell.  Great book although not as great as his first, Velvet Elvis.  In the middle of reading Saving Life of Christ by Major Ian Thomas.  Ordered more books yesterday one by Andy Stanley and another by Erwin McManus or some such.  All recomendations from S.  I have never read so much non-fiction in my life.  I do have Lori Wick’s latest book White Chocolate on my desk that I need to read.  Usually get those finished in a few days.  Her last few have been bad, I have high hopes for this one to redeem her.

Lexi is talking up a storm these days.  Her latest phrase is I tired.  And she copies EVERYTHING Emma does.  Emma asked for a tissue in the van the other day and then Lexi asked for one.  Emma was leaning against the wall, so Lexi had to.  The play together really well unless there is something they both want.  And poor Emma is so sweet, she always wants to share so she’ll quit crying and the toy doesn’t get taken away.  Emma had Dora boots on and Lexi wanted one.  At first she protested and then told Lexi, here, you have one and I have one.  Good thing they weren’t actually planning to go out like that.

Saturday is a launch party for the new magazine and supposedly I am going to be on the cover.  I hate saying that really and don’t want people to assume I’m all model-type.  Which I guess sometimes I let my pride get the best of me but in general that’s not how I want people to see me.  I’m fine with those words she’s pretty but I’d really like, she’s really nice or smart or a really good Christian or something to follow right after that if not before.

I am still on this schtick of wanting to quit work.  I could really keep myself busy with work with the church or even several churches.  And it would make me happy.  I never feel so good and purposeful than when I’m doing something for the church.  Even going to pick out paint on Monday for Home Depot was so. much. fun.  I just felt like I was doing something good.  Something right and worthwhile.  But I know I’d miss that paycheck I get and our insurance.  And there goes the Y and the kids school and who knows what else.  I’m still praying about it but right now, I just don’t see it happening.

We got a Land Rover.  Have I mentioned that? I can’t remember.  It’s a black 1996 Discovery.  I love it.  But it has some things that need fixed including the driver’s side motor thingy that moves the seat.  I have to use a pillow when I drive it.  Which has only been once.  But I still love it.

And we got our tax money back.  Which is great.  Except so many people owe us and we owe credit cards we have put stuff on to get points on (we always pay off each month) and our checking account is all screwy as to what is what in there now.  And our dog had fleas and hook worms and that was a nice bill.  And then Scott bought a pressure washer from his uncle to help him out with money and there went more of the money.  So who knows what we’re doing with our money except we bought the Land Rover.
