Blue Light Special
Written by Amy on October 16th, 2008 at 9:49 pmOk, coupon queens, get ready! I’ve been couponing heavily at CVS for a year now and I was blown away by this one. K-Mart has a deal for a few days where you can double coupons up to $2! Glade also has a deal where you buy two plug-ins for $4.19 each, there is a B1G1 coupon and you get TWO $4 coupons back!! And I had 4 B1G1 coupons!
Everything in that picture is worth $135. I did 5 transactions rolling over my money to buy more of the Glade until the 5th I did everything else and paid with the money I earned. For each of the Glade transactions, I paid .78 and for the last transaction ith everything else, my total was $99 and I paid SIXTY THREE CENTS!!!!! AND had EIGHT DOLLARS LEFT! K-Mart PAID ME money to take all that home!

Real Hope for Haiti
Written by Amy on June 13th, 2008 at 9:24 pmAwhile back I blogged on Real Hope for Haiti. I never really did follow up on that though. I gave what was left in my PayPal account at the time, continued to read Aaron’s posts through the week and emptied my PayPal account a second time after a payment came in again and then tonight I read this post directly from the center and emptied it once more. My heart just breaks for these kids and I honestly don’t know what to do but pray and click that little donation button. I know the small amount of money I’m sending isn’t going to stop their pain tonight but maybe, just maybe, it will make a difference somewhere at some point.
Lord, please be with all the burn victims in Haiti right now. Help the swelling go down and the healing process to quicken. Be with the children’s families and the workers at the center now. Grant them mercy and grace and patience and courage and strength. Thank you for moving me to make a difference and I pray that my gifts are multiplied beyond recognition and used for Your glory.

CVS Deals 4/6
Written by Amy on April 7th, 2008 at 10:23 pmOK, this week has been a pretty good week for CVS. These past few have been sketchy. I don’t have my receipt but I’ll do the rundown of which deals I did.
These first two deals are GREAT ones for a starter since you make $$ off of them and all the coupons are available this week.
Transaction 1
Buy 2 CoverGirl TruBlend Whipped Foundation (approx. $9.49 each)
Use B1G1 coupon from 4/06 insert
Use 1 $1/1 coupon from 4/06 insert (or the $2/1 coupon from the Reinventing Beauty booklet)
Spend $8.49 (or $7.49 with the $2/1 coupon) out of pocket
Get $12 ECBs!
Barbie Toothpaste on clearance for .87 which I needed for a filler to use an ECB I had.
Transaction 2
Buy 1 Excedrin 24ct at $1.99, Get $1 ECBs (Limit 5)
Use $2/1 from 3/2 SmartSource insert or printables here, here, and here
Free plus $1 overage after coupon and ECB
Buy $10 worth of Febreze, Get $5 ECBs (Limit 1)
*Deal Idea*
Buy 2 Febreze Noticeables at $6.99 each
Use 2 $5/1 coupon from Homemade Solutions booklet or P&G mailers (there is also a printable but I’m not finding it–anyone know the direct link?)
Spend $4
Get $5 ECBs back
Buy 6 Sunsilk Shampoo/Conditioner at $3.49 each
Use 3 B1G1 coupons from 4/6 insert (if you got these)
Use 3 $1.50/1 coupons here or here (or $2/1 or $2.50/1 or $1.50/1 coupons from 2/24 inserts)
Spend $5.97
Get $5 ECBs!
Buy 2 V05 Styling Aids at $3.99
Use 3 $3 off CVS coupons
Spend $1.98
Not an ECB deal but it’s pretty cheap stuff!
Buy 3 Pantene Shampoo/Conditioner/Styling Aid for 3/$12
Use 3 $2 coupons from Beauty book
Spend $6
Get $4 ECBs (I think that’s right. Not a money-maker but it’s pretty cheap)
Buy 2 Jergens Natural Glow Moisturizer at $7.98
Use $3/2 CVS Coupon
Use 2 $1 Jergens coupons
Spend $10.96
Get $5 ECBs back (again not a great deal but I need me some tan legs and $2.50 a bottle is cheap)
Transaction 3
Buy 4 CVS Diaper Wipes for 2/$5
Use $2/$10 CVS coupon
Spend $8 on 4
No ECBs unless you spend $25 but we needed wipes
Buy Charmin 12-pack for $4.88
Use .25 Charmin coupon
Also not the best deal but we needed toilet paper
I did these in 3 different transactions in 2 different visits yesterday and today. I think I spent no more than $3 oop on all this, used about $45 in ECBs and made about $35. If it wasn’t for that third transaction for things I really need, I would have gained an ECB or two instead of losing about $10.
Go to moneysavingmom.com for more deals. Some of these are from there and the not so great ones are ones I worked in since we needed/wanted the stuff.

You know you’re addicted when…
Written by Amy on April 3rd, 2008 at 8:25 pmyou go to 3 CVS stores IN ONE DAY in two different cities.
Yeah, so that basically sums up my evening. CVS, dinner, CVS, CVS. Scott had $20 worth of ECBs that were going to expire today and somebody waited to the last minute to spend them. You know it’s hard to spend $20 worth of ECBs at CVS? So what’d I get?
1 6-pack Glucerna Drinks
5 bottles of CVS Tylenol
2 Lady Stick deodorants
Colgate Toothbrush
2 Colgate Toothpastes
Monster Drink
I actually only paid $3 oop for all that but it was worth about $50.

Harris Teeter – Triple Coupons
Written by Amy on March 27th, 2008 at 12:18 pmThis is from an email I sent out and thought a few people that have Harris Teeter around them might benefit:
I went at lunch today and these are the things I got a good deal on:
2 Dole Fruit Parfaits
Welch’s Grape Juice
2 Carnation Evaporated Milk
5 cans tomato/chicken noodle soup
2 Jif to Go 6 pack
2 Zatarain’s Rice
2 Bird’s Eye Frozen Vegetables
Alexia Fries
4 Borden Cheese Singles (go to Borden’s web site to print a coupon)
2 Daisy Sour Cream
2 International Coffee Creamer
Some of these I got two because I had multiple coupons and some the coupons required 2. I paid $11.76 and saved $44.61
There is a limit of 20 coupons per day. I’ll be going back tomorrow to use some other coupons I didn’t get to use today.

CVS Monthly and 3/2-3/8 Deals and Walgreens 3/2-3/8
Written by Amy on March 2nd, 2008 at 11:07 pm
Alrighty folks, if you ever want to get into the CVS thing, this is the week to do it! Please check out all the details on the deals at moneysavingmom.com but this is what I got and paid $0 oop thanks to a gift card and the $5/15 coupon out.
I did mine in 4 transactions. I had to do mine a certain way because of the ECBs I had so you may not need to do yours quite this way.
5 Colgates
2 Oral B toothbrushes
2 $.50 2 $.75 1 $1 Colgate Coupons
2 $2 Oral B coupons
$5/15 coupon
$12.98 in ECBs
Total $1.94
Paid with gift card
Earned $25 in ECBs (should have, not sure if I did now that I look at my receipts)
2 Gillette Mach 3 Razors
1 Pain Patch
3 Lip Balms
2 $3 Gillette Coupons
$5/15 coupon
$14.95 in ECBs from previous transaction
Total $1.48
Paid with gift card
Earned $21 ECBs
2 Charmin (I worked this transaction b/c we need toilet paper and it was on sale for $5.99)
1 lip balm
2 .25 Charmin coupons
$13.97 ECBs
Total .57
Paid with gift card
Earned $2.99 ECBs
2 Excedrin
2 $3 coupons
$5/15 coupon
Used $10 ECB
Total .42
Paid with gift card
Earned $10 ECBs
Even without the gift card, I would have only paid $4.31 oop. In total, I saved $100.
As for Walgreens, I didn’t plan it too well so I paid more oop than I wanted. If you check moneysavingmom.com, I did both razor deals, 6 Herbal Essences and the Olay Bar Soap. I ended up paying about $15 oop but I have $13 left. I just didn’t plan that too well and since you can’t use the razor RR to pay for the other one, I was stuck. Anyway, think about that one before you do it.

CVS Deals January 13 2008
Written by Amy on January 18th, 2008 at 7:37 pmI didn’t think I was going to make a run this week but it turns out I needed Tampons and I really couldn’t be a normal person and go to the store and buy Tampons and leave. Oh no, I had to make a deal of it. Guess how much I spent oop? ZERO!
Here’s how I did it.
1 Box of Tampax Tampons (yes, I’m brand loyal on this one) $6.99
1 Control Glucose Monitor normally $79.99 on sale for $9.99
2 Colgate Children’s Toothbrushes @ $2.99
Used a $50 coupon on the Glucose Monitor which the cashier adjusted to $9.99
Used $2/10 coupon
Used $10 in ECBs.
My total was then $1.13 but she offered to adjust a $1 ECB to .97 and then I had a ZERO Balance. I didn’t know you could do that but it was the store manager that was checking me out and I thought that was very helpful of her.
I earned $9.99 ECBs from the monitor and $2 from the toothbrushes. Plus it spit out a $3/15 and some other coupons.
So basically I was given $1 to take home my Tampons I needed.
Works for me!

CVS Deals January 6, 2008
Written by Amy on January 6th, 2008 at 9:30 pmOh my gosh. I’m still hardly believing the deals I pulled out today. Unbelievable. Look at this…
That’s my Walgreens and CVS Deals. Sort of ignore the two boxes of cereal and Splenda and add in a gallon of milk…do you know how much I paid for all of that from CVS…..
ELEVEN CENTS
Yes, that’s $0.11. I opened my little change purse and pulled out a dime and penny and went home with that cart full. And you can’t even see the 3rd roll of wrapping paper there in the back. As for Walgreens, I paid $7 for the cereal and Splenda. Not the best deal but it was on sale and I had coupons and was getting low on both and Heather wanted to go there for milk, yadda, yadda, so I went for it.
As for CVS…my receipt says I saved $150 something. Insane, I tell you!
First off, the Christmas stuff is 90% off so that held a great deal on the amount I saved. But I got some good deals otherwise. Let me see if I can list out the really good stuff I got…
-
2 Aquapod waters
-
Visine
-
4 Bottles of Chewable baby aspirin
-
Similson (sp?) Pink Eye Drops
-
Aleve
-
2 Aquafresh
-
2 Colgate
-
Garnier Fructis Shampoo
-
2 Lysol Neutra Air
-
Lighter
-
Zantac
-
Gallon of Milk (not pictured)
-
2 2-pack Rubbermaid containers
-
Monster Energy drink (as a peace-offering for hubby for such a long planning session and trip)
I used a coupon for everything except the milk and Monster drink.
Then I used $10/$50, $5/$30, $3/$15, $2/10 CVS store coupons.
Then I paid $18 ECBs.
My balance was $.11
I also earned $9 ECBs plus it spit out $3/$15.
Find these deals and more at moneysavingmom.com. Thank you, Crystal!!!

CVS Deals Week of December 16 2007
Written by Amy on December 17th, 2007 at 10:32 pmAs I mentioned in the last post, I had about $14 worth of ECBs I had to use this week. I wasn’t overly excited about the deals this week and would have probably only gotten the Quattro razor had I not had to use my ECBs. So this is what I got:
1 Aquafresh toothpaste .99
1 Quattro Midnight Razor 7.99
2 CVS Cough Drops .99
2 L’oreal Vive Shampoo 4.99 (B1G1)
1 Playtex Tampons 4.99
1 Wrapping Paper 2.99
1 Tape .99
Used $4 Razor coupon from 12/16
Used $1 L’Oreal Coupon
Used $2/10 coupon
Used 3.99, 3.79 and 6.99 ECBs
Total oop $3.72 for $37.33 worth of product
I overestimated the total a bit trying to make sure I used all the ECBs. I probably would have left off either the paper or cough drops.
I also had several coupons print out including the survey that came out a few weeks ago. I think in total I earned $8 ECBs plus $3/15 coupon and $4/20 plus other coupons.
Anyway, it turned out good in that I came home with as many ECBs as I had and I’m happy with that.
